Programs in Guwahati
Animal Birth Control & Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ABC-AR) Program
At Animal Relief Centre JBF is conducting sterilization operation (spay/neuter) and inoculates anti-rabies vaccine under the banner of Humane Dog and Rabies Management Program to control the dog population and rabies incidence. JBF have neutered more than 3000 Community Dogs till now since starting of the program and a long way ahead to go. As every dog wants to lead a healthy life, there is no enough space and shelter available to puppies born every year, and it becomes difficult for the mother to keep them alive. JBF believes that the spay/neuter program help these mothers from giving birth to stray population.

Disaster Relief
Wherever possible JBF is providing aid in the form of volunteers, food for animals and veterinary support services for
animals of Disaster affected areas because JBF believe animals in these areas suffer and feel pain. As disaster comes animals are often displaced or abandoned affected areas, suffer terrible injuries, diseases, hunger and dehydration. There is also conflict for food between animals and people. As village people totally depend on their animals to cultivate land for food, transport, health, source of income & culture. We believe that our help in saving the animals in disaster situations benefits the people and help minimizing the impact of disasters on poor people making them to be self sufficient. Helping animal means helping people and failing to do so can make the things worst.
